Ho ho ho!
(Lol, just kidding, it's not Santa, it's us. But we are listening to Robbie's Christmas album while writing this, just to paint you a picture).
What. A. Month. By next Monday, we'll have produced three events within the space of four weeks, and we're proud of every single one of them.
First off, at the end of November, we had LIVE Bradford, one of the most varied LIVE nights we've hosted to date, which included everything from a verbatim play about the past to a psychedelic odyssey on a pier in Devon. Massive congratulations to everyone who produced work for the sharing, and thanks to the Thornbury Centre, Bradford Producing Hub and Spin Arts, who were phenomenal partners, and supportive of us and the LIVE artists every step of the way. You can catch up on the event below if you missed it on the night.
And plans are already well and truly underway for LIVE at the Barnsley Civic in March 2023. We have six excellent artists gearing up to present work at the event, and cannot wait to see what they dream up. Watch this space for the line-up and ticket details!
Then, this Saturday, we're presenting a sharing of the story we have started to make with our Campfire participants in Doncaster. The sharing is at Lakeside Village Shopping Centre as part of an event with our partners at Doncaster Mind. We're having a really brilliant time with this lovely group, making a brand new peice of work about journeys and returns & mental health, and thinking about how an audience can present newly-created work. Any of you about in Donny on Saturday we hope to see you there, and look forward to continuing this collaboration next year.
And finally, next week we say a sad goodbye to our regular Town Squared workshops in Leighton-Linslade with a rehearsed reading of a script about an extraordinary pair of women, made in collaboration with separate groups of adults and young people. This (hopefully) isn't the end of this particular show, but next year we'll also be taking the project elsewhere, ensuring it's even bigger and bolder this time around.
And that's it for 2022. We're proud of what we've achieved as a small but nimble company this year, engaging with dozens of participants all over the country and producing work for hundreds of audience members. This year, bookended by LIVE at the Holbeck back in January and LIVE in Bradford last month, has only reaffirmed our commitment to working on the ground with artists and participants. We'd like to thank everyone who's come along on the journey with us.
We hope, despite all its challenges, that you've also found something to be proud of in 2022. You rock.
SEE YOU IN 2023,
Team BO x
